The New 2018 Kia Optima or the 2018 Nissan Maxima?

When looking for a new sedan, there's a dizzying amount of good options to choose from. Two of the most popular are the new 2018 Kia Optima and the Nissan Maxima. Some may say they seem similar, but we think the Kia Optima pulls out ahead.

To put it simply, the Kia Optima offers more. More safety with Blind Spot Monitoring and Parking Sensors standard on all models. More cargo space with larger trunk and fold flat rear seats. More comfort with more head room and leg room. Oh, and the Kia Optima's warranties are nearly twice as long for twice as many miles as the Nissan Maxima's.

To be fair, there are some things that 2018 Kia Optima has less of than the 2018 Nissan Maxima--like around $10,000 less out of your pocket with Kia's lower MSRP for comparably equipped models, and less money spent at the gas pump with the Kia Optima's higher MPG.

We think the 2018 Kia Optima comes out on top here, but we'll let you decide--you can learn more about how the Kia Optima stacks up against the competition and compare popular models here.
